Emerging Media PM - Virtual TechEd Dreamer 4月10日 Keynote Going WidescreenTechEd Keynote - Going Widescreen
In an age when it's not hip unless it's "Hi Def" or "Widescreen Format", this year the TechEd Keynote content on all screens will be in a 16x9 format. We expect the screens to pop out with clarity and brightness to our audience. There have been many discussions on moving to this format for all events, however the AV world and the computer video card world are really just beginning to line up so that we can show content in its best light. For those of you have a plasma, LCD or DLP television that can display HD content, the question is "would you go back to your old television set with a 4x3 rounded screen?" I would argue that this would be difficult to do and the answer would be a definate "NO!" So why should our events and screens we use be any different? They shouldn't! Todd Pearson Look for both the webcast and the screens onsite to have the new welcomed standard of 16x9 format this year! 4月8日 Attendee Party -- Details Available Here!Join us and a few thousand of your TechEd friends for the Attendee Party at Islands of Adventure where Tech·Ed 2007 attendees will enjoy exclusive use of this Theme Park of the 21st Century.

Corey H - HOL/ILL Lead 4月3日 TechEd GadgetHere is a fun countdown gadget that Frank La Vigne created: TechEd Gadget Great Job Frank. Are there really only 61 days left until the event....so much to be done in such a short amount of time! Monica W. Technical Content Owner 2nd 3月27日 Looking Back over 15 years of TechEdCheck out the tracks from the conference guide from TechEd 94. When we were sorting through all the materials from past TechEds we found ourselves having a chuckle looking at what were the 'hot' technologies in 94...Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. I will be posting more from what we find in the vault so stay tuned! Monica W. Technical Content Owner 2nd 3月26日 Tech•Ed 2007 WebsiteThe Tech•Ed website has been live exactly 2 months today and registration is going strong. As communications manager, I own making sure the site is up-to-date with all the latest news and highlights so you, the customer, are always informed. Recently we highlighted that the Tech•Ed Keynote, Bob Muglia, was just announced and we’re working on getting all of the details finalized for the Attendee Party on Thursday, June 7th. Everyone is anxious to hear where our fun night of festivities will be hosted – so stay tuned!
I also work with our creative agency to build the site, which we start planning back in early November. It’s an interesting process to make sure we organize the information so it makes the most sense to our customers. And gathering all of the copy for each section is the best part as we have many stakeholders who contribute their expertise to the development of the pages. When we hit the switch in mid-January and the site finally went live – that was a great feeling! I look forward to bringing you updates each week so please check back often as the Tech•Ed site is constantly changing and growing.
Giselle V., Communications Manager and Website Owner 3月22日 The building of the Expo! The past couple of weeks, we’ve been working at selling sponsorships, getting the TechEd website up to reflect the sponsors, reviewing the floor plan and working with the internal Microsoft teams and their partner programs. I really enjoy this role as I get to wear a partner “hat” and think like a partner. I find myself in meetings wondering if I were a partner……what would I want to see Microsoft do? How can Microsoft provide more value to partners attending TechEd? The partners bring so much to this event - they are such a big component and we do everything we can to make sure they have a wonderful experience. Julie L. Partner Integration 3月20日 What's happening in the TLC??Extended - Birds-of-a-Feather Hurry! Don’t miss your chance to submit and vote on Birds-of-a-Feather sessions for Tech·Ed. The deadline has been extended until April 6th. Anyone willing to moderate a session is encouraged to submit a topic. Topics are then voted on by you, and then the top vote getters turn into Birds-of-a-Feather sessions. Creating a great Women in Tech event – HELP! One of my responsibilities as a member of the Tech·Ed team is to come up with an innovative and fun Women in Technology event. Love to get input from our fantastic women attendees! We’re looking at the topic of getting young women involved in technology. Have ideas for speakers? I would love to hear about any outstanding women you have heard speak, or you think are inspirational, that you think would be a great addition to Tech·Ed. Can you share any “icebreakers” – ways to get people meeting each other and talking – that you have done at similar events to this that you thought were really effective and fun? Technical Learning Center – Staff will be ready Thanks to all who submitted their names and offered to help in the TLC as technology experts. The Track Owners are reviewing submissions this week and selections will happen next week. The Microsoft staff is gearing up, too. There will be close to 1,000 experts in the TLC ready to share product information, talk solutions, discuss deployment, and more. Bring your biggest challenges to Tech·Ed and find an expert to help. Susan L. TLC and Community Lead 3月19日 Building ContentFor anyone who has reviewed the TechEd website you will see we are getting closer and closer to a complete session list for the event. The track owners have been working with their Product Groups and subject experts driving their strategy in order to bring the most compelling and useful information. It has been interesting watching this process because there are so many people involved with the decisions as well as all of the exciting new topics for TechEd 2007. There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into selecting titles and abstracts that will give a clear picture of what you will learn during a breakout session or hands-on lab. Monica W. 2月22日 A track owners view of building sessions!I am the Mobility Track Owner for TE 2007. I kicked off planning for the show with my v-team in December. We have done a lot of brainstorming on how to make the most of our presence this year and have some good ideas to execute on as we move forward in our planning. Overall, MED is very excited about TE 2007 because we have our own Mobility track this year! We have been lucky enough in the past to share track space with Exchange and other BGs but we are ready to branch out on our own. We will be educating TE attendees on both our Windows Mobile product and our suite of Windows Embedded products in our track breakouts, HOLs, ILLs, and chalk talks. And we just launched a new version of Windows Mobile, WM6, on 2/12/07 so we will have new WM6 based devices to showcase at our TLC which will be really cool. In addition to working to ensure that our content is appealing and appropriate for our Tech Ed audience, I have been working with other Track Owners, including Ali, Enzo, Stephanie and Lisa to develop some joint sessions. Our goal is to show the IT Pros how mobility works with other key elements of the Microsoft stack and how they can leverage their existing skills and knowledge to extend their infrastructure to support mobile messaging, mobile CRM, etc. in a secure and optimized way. Session triage is next Monday so I can share more about the actual sessions that made the cut in a future posting. During the time that I am not managing this track, I am responsible for MED’s global strategy for Mobile Line of Business application marketing. My goal is to get a business users to use Windows Mobile devices to do their daily jobs more efficiently and in real time even while they are away from their desks. To learn more about it and how we market Windows Mobile devices to businesses around the world, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/business/default.mspx Kristi L. Mobility Track Owner The creation of the Teched 2007 TLCPutting the TLC together is like a big puzzle. How do we put all this cool Microsoft stuff in one place and make it easy for everyone to find what they are looking for – be it product demos, hands-on labs, or just a comfortable place to sit and chat with fellow attendees? With the help of our logistics masterminds, the TLC floor plan is laid out in an empty space that is more than 200,000 square feet. Then each section is designed to meet the specifications of what is going to happen in that area. Think about all the wires attached to your computer, and then imagine the wires it takes to hook up the more than 1,250 computers in the Hands on Labs and Instructor Led Labs, not to mention the 100s of machines used to showcase Microsoft’s newest technologies. Finally our creative team adds color and signs to make it easy to quickly navigate around the TLC. Of course, the real fun starts in the TLC on June 4 when all the people arrive in Orlando. Susan L. TLC and Community Lead 2月21日 Prepare to make your markPrepare to make your mark at TechEd 2007...here is a sample of what you will see at TechEd 2007 as well as a link to the TechEd 2007 website: http://www.microsoft.com/events/teched2007/default.mspx Session SelectionIt is that time...we are working with the track owners to select the more than 480 sessions that will be held at TechEd 2007! Currently the track owners are going through 1600 session submissions sorting through to find the best combination of topics. There is a lot of colloboration with other tracks as well as their product groups to ensure we are on target for what is in demand. It is an exciting and demanding time as we look forward to the evolution of sessions. Monica W. Technical Content Owner 2nd 2月9日 Video ClipsCheck out the space at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. It is crazy how big it is: http://soapbox.msn.com/?user=900382123795620218 TechEd meets TeachReady-WOWI just had an opportunity to visit TechReady(internal version of TechEd) and it was amazing. Although the events are quite different as far as audience, size etc. they are fundamentally the same. I was able to see all of things we talk about in our core team meetings and how they relate. Think about the logistics to be able to feed 14,000 people alone.
Several of our track owners work on both TechEd and TechReady so they have been busy this week. At the same time they are working on the content that will be delivered at TechEd 2007 and let me tell you, there are so many details involved with putting together the right combination of sessions. There are so many creative ideas to look at. I keep being told, wait until February...it is going to get busy so I expect the pace to quicken, the excitement to rise and the experience to be memorable. Monica W. Technical Content Owner 2nd
1月8日 Complexities to TechEdI am new to Microsoft and new to TechEd, joining the content team last October. So far, I have loved working on the content team helping to drive and develop the story told at TechEd. One of the really fun things that I am working on is developing this forum for the core TechEd team to share their experiences with putting this event on. A peek behind the scenes if you will. For the first time we will share videos and pictures of some of the highlights from the team, from site visits to on campus meetings. From what I have seen, they are a very dedicated and driven group of people. They have shown great enthusiasm and passion in trying to make sure the event goes off smoothly and that our customers get the most out of the week they spend with us. After seeing the space in Orlando I can see what a big job this is and getting a clear picture of all the moving parts...it is incredible. With great excitement...Monica W. TechEd 2007 Content Owner 2nd 12月13日 Welcome to Teched UnpluggedStart sounding off folks...it is official...the comments, buzz, etc from the people who bring you TechEd! |
